About
The West Side Justice Center is a nonprofit legal services and legal education organization that has been in existence for a little more than a year. The WSJC focuses on providing holistic legal services. In the last year the WSJC has done more than 500 pro bono legal intakes covering all aspects of legal and quasi legal issues. WSJC team members helped these intakes by either navigating them through the legal system or by providing referrals to either pro bono legal services or inexpensive legal services. One of the ways that the WSJC accomplishes this is by training ex-offenders to be paralegals and human rights investigators. Additionally, the WSJC holds regular legal education and know your rights seminars for the community at large. Lastly, the WSJC engages in advocacy around criminal justice issues.

Vision
The West Side Justice Center is a community-centered organization that promotes a holistic approach to justice by:

  • Facilitating legal literacy;
  • Providing legal and quasi-legal assistance to community members.
  • Establishing and nurturing community trust through participatory deliberations and quality service.
  • Community Center,
  • Legal Services
